We here at California Human Development are proud of the work we do to support the individuals that utilize our services. The past few years have been like no other in recent history and now more than ever we’ve had to rely on each other to get by. We are proud of the strength we’ve seen in our organization but we’re also inspired by the tenacity and determination of those we serve. We give thanks to those individuals we serve that remind us why we do this work and hope to affect change. We are always looking for people to join our community and come open doors with us. Be a catalyst in helping to Build Stronger Communities: Join CHD’s Regional Community Advisory Councils

The purpose of the Regional Community Advisory Council (RCAC) is to provide a forum for identifying community needs and gaps and developing localized solutions to meet the progressively changing community needs. CHD is engaging community members, agency partners, and community leaders to help identify prospective members for the RCAC and to share insights on community needs and gaps. We need to support as many individuals in our communities’ margins as possible. We need those who are committed to removing the barriers of access for individuals that are significantly underserved. For many people we work with, the largest barrier to realizing their potential comes in the form of financial obstacles. Our organization takes the most pride in the individuals we’ve had the privilege of serving. While the stories are endless, here are some of the recent highlights of individuals we have the pleasure of serving.

“My name is Maggie Hart and I have been a resident at Parkway Plaza since November 2018. Prior to living here, I lived in another low-income senior property in Fairfield. Parkway Plaza, by far, provides a most pleasant and enjoyable senior living experience. Social Services provided onsite instrumental support to residents. Food delivery 3 times a month helps! We all get dry and canned goods. Sometimes frozen meat or fish and eggs is provided. Often there is bulk fresh fruit and vegetables. This really helps to stretch our food dollars. READ MORE

“My name is Jesus. I was born in Zacatecas, Mexico in 1992. I was brought over to the US at the age of two to Hopland, California where I would live until 2006. After 2006, I moved to Ukiah, CA. I briefly left to live in Chico to attend Chico State University where I majored in Psychology. Once, I graduated I moved back to Ukiah and have lived here since. READ MORE
