California Human Development Names Heather Henry as Chief Executive Officer
New CEO ready to help nonprofit expand operations
Santa Rosa, CA (May 5, 2025) California Human Development (CHD), a nonprofit organization that empowers seasonal farmworkers and their families with housing, education, job training, and immigration services announced the appointed Heather Henry as CHD’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Heather Henry brings over two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, education, and workforce development, along with a deep commitment to advancing economic mobility and expanding opportunities for all communities.
Most recently, Ms. Henry served as President and Executive Director of the Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Solano County, where she cultivated strong partnerships with local education, labor, government, and community organizations to ensure job seekers and workers had the skills and resources needed to achieve their employment goals, and local businesses could access the talent and support necessary for their economic growth. She also serves as Board Chair for the Solano Community Foundation and as a board member for Connections for Life.
With over 20 years of experience coupled with a Master’s degree in World History from Mississippi State University, CHD is confident she will inspire and vitalize the role with the communities and the clients CHD serves.

I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff and partners to expand access to vital services, and to strengthen the systems that support the workers who sustain our food economy.”
Henry will lead CHD’s team of 100 staff based in Santa Rosa and 30 offices across Northern California.
