500,000 LIVES CHANGED & COUNTING

Flash back to 1967: Social unrest unlike ever before. Cesar Chavez rallies the masses for farmworker and immigrant rights. Among those inspired are four men, the founders of California Human Development.

Now present day 2017:  Video of ICE agents at work, rhetoric about the ‘dangers’ of people who look and believe differently, proposed budget cuts where the poorest among us suffer.

This is the backdrop for a critical and yet inspirational time at California Human Development. 2017 marks our 50th year in the War on Poverty —providing those who struggle most a hand up to the American Dream! On this our Golden Anniversary, we are so proud of our history and of our record:  50 Years & 500,000 Lives Changed!

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS…AIMING FOR 50 MORE

At CHD, a year-long celebration is underway and those of you, so critical to the cause, are invited to join us. We are celebrating and most importantly we are energizing together for the work that clearly lies ahead.
